6.2 Cleaning and descaling

Regular cleaning
o Clean the device after every use.
o Wash the inside of the water tank with a mild cleaning agent, then rinse with running
water. To clean the water spout, run clean water through it.
o Wash the lid and rinse under running water.
o Clean the device's external surfaces with a moist, soft cloth and mild cleaning agent if
needed.
o Always use soft cloths, never use abrasive cleaners that could scratch the device.
o After cleaning, dry the device and polish with a soft, dry cloth.
Descaling
o Hard water may cause stone deposits to form in the water tank, lengthening the time
needed to heat water and possibly causing damage to the device. Use filtered water
if possible to avoid deposits forming!
CAUTION!
Failure to conduct regular descaling in accordance with these instructions may
void the warranty and result in returns being rejected!
Descale the device regularly!
o We recommend using citric acid or vinegar for ecological descaling. Prepare a
mixture of water with vinegar (proportion 3:1) or water with citric acid (2 table-
spoons per 1 liter of water) and fill the tank. Wait for one hour then boil the water.
o Wait for the device to cool.
o After cooling, pour out the descaling solution and rinse the device several times with
clean water. Drain the clean water through the pour spout to remove all leftovers.
o Follow manufacturer's instructions if you choose to use a commercially available
descaling product.
