VRS FMT Repeater
VRS Repeater to boost the VRS signal in FMT Housing.
Installation and Operating Instructions
Functional description
The Junction Box Repeater receives radio-grams of VRS transmitters and
re-transmits these radiograms with a transmission delay of 300 ms. So the
range of VRS radio transmitters can be extended.
After transmit a radiogram, the repeater does not react to further radio-
grams for one second.
The Junction Box Repeater can alternatively be operated with 12–24VDC
or 230VAC.
Start-up
Ä
ATTENTION!
Observe the applicable electrical regu-lations!
1. Mount the radio repeater in a junction box and use the junction box
cover to close the junction box.
2. Connect the power supply (12–24VDC or 230VAC) as follows:
12–24VDC: + and -
230VAC:
L and N
After start-up, the radio repeater is in the oper-ating mode. As long as no
VRS transmitter code is memorized into the radio repeater, every received
VRS radio telegram will be retransmit. During receiving a radio telegram,
the LED flashes for a short time. During re-transmitting, the LED flashes a
little bit longer.
Mounting advice:
i
Avoid mounting at the following locations, as this will affect the
range:
– in a distribution box or housing made from metal
– in the immediate vicinity of large metal objects
– on the ground (or near it).
Memorizing transmitter codes
So that the radio repeater only retransmits definite radio telegrams, you
have to memorize the codes of the corresponding VRS transmitters into
the radio repeater.
Note:
i
Generally you only have to transfer the code of one button per
transmitter channel. The code of the other transmitter buttons will
be assigned automatically.
1. Briefly press the programming button (< 1.6 seconds). The programming
mode is activated. The LED flashes.
2. Press and hold a transmitter button. If the code has been memorized,
the LED lights up for 4 seconds and than flashes again. Release the
transmitter button.
3. Repeat step 2 with the other transmitters. You can memorize up to
16 transmitter codes into the radio repeater.
4. Briefly press the programming button (< 1.6 seconds) in order to return
to the operating mode.
Notes:
i
– After memorizing the first transmitter code, the radio repeater
only retransmits the telegrams of memorized transmitters.
– In case of longer power failure programming remains.
