System overview 2. System overview Description The infrared receiver is suitable for the BLUM measuring devices with infrared transmission. The receiver enables wireless communication between the measuring devices and the NC con‐ trol (type A2 / A3). Data transfer to the NC control via IF59‐A2 interface. Mounting and commissioning 3. Mounting and commissioning CAUTION! Physical injuries and material damages of the components caused by voltage Make sure that the components are volt‐free during installation work. NOTICE Damages of the measuring system by chips are possible. Never install cables and wires without protection in the working area. Protect cables and wires in the working area against flying chips, e.g. by protection hose, protection spring, cover, etc. NOTICE Damage to the measuring system by sharp edges possible. Please deburr the sharp edges on the cable bushing and mount edge protection. NOTICE Damage by improper installation of cables and hoses When mounting cables and hoses, please provide sufficient strain relief. Please note the minimum binding radius of cables and hoses. NOTICE Damages caused by improper installation/dismounting Please only use original replacement parts as well as the provided special tools. Consider the maximum tightening torque. Mounting position Choose a mounting position, in which other machines are not affected. Test the mounting position before the final mounting. The receiver should be placed protected from coolant and chips. Distance between probe and receiver: Pay attention to chap. 2.5. Align the optics of the receiver to the probe in measuring position. The measuring system has to be returned in the original packing only. The packing is not allowed to deflect the measuring system. The measuring system should be packed shock and pollution protected.
