  • Page 2 Hamilton Safe Company Tools required: Welder, hex wrench set, saws-all (cutting torch optional), screwdrivers, 1/4" drill, hammer, punches. Step #1: With the hopper in the open position, peel the black tape at the top and both sides of the hopper to expose nine screws holding the stainless steel face to the head.
  • Page 3 Hamilton Safe Company Step #3: With the hopper in the open position, exposed are eight press in caps covering socket head cap screws that hold the side bars to the housing. Drill a 1/4" hole at the top and bottom of each cap and remove the caps by driving a pin behind them or by using pliers to work them out.

  • Page 5 Hamilton Safe Company Step #6: Remove four screws holding the top casting in the housing and remove the casting. Pull the alarm wires through the divider plate and retain for future use. Step #7: Drill out the bottom three break-off screws from the bottom front panel. Cut the curved baffle plate from the top down into the front plate approximately one inch.

  • Page 7 Hamilton Safe Company Step #10: Remove the terminal strip and wire from the bottom of housing. Step #11: Place the new front plate into the housing flush with the front and weld in place. The bar welded to the new front plate should be to the top and inside when installed.
  • Page 8 Hamilton Safe Company Step #13: Place the template into the housing and bolt the new mounting bars to the template. The wide bar mounts to the left and the narrow bar mounts to the right. With the template setting on the new front plate and flush with the face of the housing, weld the mounting bars to the housing sides.
