NOTE: Install locks in doors that are either 1-3/8" or 1-3/4" thick and have either a 2-3/8" or 2-3/4"
backset. (The "backset" is the distance between the door edge and the center of the lockset.)
NOTE: The Easy Guide Template (1) is adjusted for desired backset by pulling out the arms, revers-
ing their direction and then snapping the arms back into the holder. The 2 backset dimensions are stamped
on the Easy Guide Template. See figure 1.

Place the Easy Guide Template (1) at the desired latch height on the door edge. Using the screws
from your lockset latch plate, secure the Easy Guide Template (1) to the door edge. See figure 2.
