Note: You can identify when the engine fires
through a "puff" sound.
b) Put the choke control in choke position.
5. Pull the starter rope handle until the engine starts.
6. Quickly disengage the throttle trigger lockout to set
the product to idle speed.
7. Move the front hand guard rearward to disengage
the chain brake.
8. Use the product.
To start the product in the tree
Note: Make sure that you have sufficient fuel before you
start the product.
1. Engage the chain brake.
2. Hold the product on the left or right side of your body
when you start the product.
a) If you hold the product on your left side, put your
left hand on the front handle. Hold the starter
rope handle with your right hand and thrust the
product away from your body when you start the
product.
b) If you hold the product on your right side, put
your right hand on one of the two handles. Hold
the starter rope handle with your left hand and
thrust the product away from your body when
you start the product.

To stop the product
1. Push the start/stop switch to the STOP position.

Operation without correct training can result
in serious injury or death to the operator or
others.
Use full throttle when you cut and decrease to idle
speed after each cut.
CAUTION: Engine damage can occur if
the engine runs for too long at full throttle
without load.
When you cut, put the spiked bumper into the trunk
and use it as a lever.
Note: Not all models have a spiked bumper. Speak
to your servicing dealer for more information.
Pull stroke and push stroke
You can cut through wood with the product in 2 different
positions.
To cut on the pull stroke is when you cut with the
bottom of the guide bar. The saw chain pulls through
the tree when you cut. In this position you have
