GENERAL AM TEHO 5, swivelling centre-mounted scraper for trucks is completely hydraulically operated. The functions of the centre-mounted scraper are controlled by operating switches in the driver’s cab. AM TEHO 5 is suitable for use together with AM TEHO SHJ 2 side- mounted plough and AM TEHO snow ploughs. -

PLOUGHING The recommended driving speeds when ploughing are • In summer 20 - 40 km/hour • In winter 30 - 60 km/hour, depending on the composition of the snow GENERAL TRAFFIC RULES MUST ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED WHEN PLOUGHING! NOTE! During ploughing always take notice of the surroundings and other traffic;... - Page 9 comparable longer hex screws can be used as needed. To the both sides the adapter plate is attached with 8 pins (see picture). When drilling adapter plates’ mounting holes to the truck’s frame take notice of the vehicle manufacturer’s special instructions of the allowed hole location on the vehicle’s frame and also of actions, which may affect to the duration of vehicle’s frame.

Always weld the lugs, equipped with rectangular hole for the slide bearing, to the left side of the rotary table. The welding job must be done according to the welding instruction (see picture) and only a welding-skilled person is allowed to do that.

ACTIONS BEFORE OPERATION PERFORM DAILY • Choose suitable blades for the purpose Flat blades: to remove snow and slush Ice blades or pin blades: to remove packed snow and ice Rubber blades: salting • Check the condition of the blades. The blades must be turned or changed when the gap between the cutting edge and the free hole has worn to 25 mm. -

MAINTENANCE OF THE CENTRE-MOUNTED SCRAPER Maintenance of the centre-mounted scraper consists mainly of turning or changing blades and lubrication at regular intervals. Turning or changing blades must be done early enough so that the main blade will not be worn, at the latest when the gap between the cutting edge and the free hole has worn to 25 mm. -

ADJUSTING THE HYDRAULICS AM TEHO 5 centre-mounted scraper's hydraulic operations are controlled through electric valves. Necessary flow adjusting, locking and pressure adjusting valves have been installed below the control valves. • The user of the centre-mounted scraper is allowed to adjust only the flow valves. - Page 27 ADJUSTING THE PRESSURE OF THE TILT CYLINDER: • Couple the pressure gauge to the piston side at the end of the cylinder (=A-side) • Push the blade with the cylinder against a jack or a garage hoist. • Place the jack facing the tilt ear. Place a thick plate or a piece of RHS- pipe between the blade and the jack, which spreads the load to a wider area.

DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE STANDARD PRESSURE REGULATOR Display PN5021 Setting of the switch-on point (the scraper pressure against the surface maximum) Attention! May not be adjusted over the centre-mounted scrapers pressure limit. Regulator does not work if the pressure is higher than the pressure relief valve. Needs no adjustment if you do not want to change the pressure difference.
