Symptom
No TV programme
appears on the TV
screen.
TV reception is poor.
The tape starts playing as
soon as it is inserted.
The tape is ejected when
you press z ENR.
Nothing happens when
you press z ENR.
The timer does not
operate.
The SHOWVIEW menu
or the PROG menu does
not appear.
The PDC function does
not operate properly.
Remedy
• Make sure the TV is set to video input.
• Select the correct source with the CHOIX ENTREE button.
Select a programme position when recording TV
programmes; select a line input when recording from other
equipment.
• Make sure the aerial cable is connected securely.
• Adjust the TV aerial.
• Make sure SYS. (L/L' or B/G) in the RECHERCHE
MANUELLE menu is set to the same system used in your
local area.

cover the tab hole (see page 32).

• Check that OPTIONS PROG. in the RÉGLAGE
UTILISATEUR menu is set correctly (see page 47).
• Check that the clock and the date are set correctly.
• Check that the PDC time you set is the correct one (there
might be a mistake in the TV programme guide). If the
broadcast you wanted to record did not send the good PDC
information, the VCR will not start recording.
• If the reception is poor, the PDC signal might be altered
and the VCR might not start recording.
