- Page 5 Message Reminder When the visual light is flashing red on the base unit and handset, this indicates you have a new message. Message Retrieval When the light on the base is flashing red, pick up the message by pressing the light key or press key “1” of the handset for 3 seconds, the message will be retrieved.
