Getting Started with the VersaSense IoT Fabric
1. Deploying the VersaSense IoT Fabric:
1.
Connect the provided antennas to the VersaSense Edge Gateway (​ M 02​ ) and
VersaSense Wireless devices (​ P 0x​ ) .
2.
Connect the VersaSense Edge Gateway to mains power via the power adapter
provided.
3.
(optional) Connect the M02 VersaSense Edge Gateway to your LAN network
using an Ethernet cable.
Connect your sensors and actuators (​ S 01​ to ​ S 99​ ) to the wireless devices.

Deploy the wireless devices at your chosen locations. We recommend a
maximum separation of 10M between each device in the mesh in indoor
environments.
Note 1 – Deep sleep and network formation: ​
and demonstration mode save power by automatically entering ​ d eep sleep mode if the Edge
Gateway is offline for longer than 15 minutes. To wake your wireless device from deep sleep,
you simply need to (re)connect any sensor peripheral. Wireless devices can be configured
differently for use in production environments.
Note 2 – Wireless devices currently only support one of each peripheral type plugged in at
the same moment:
In case you connect multiple peripherals of the same type at once on a
single wireless device; it will only enable data collection from the first peripheral plugged in
of every type.

    3.2. Network overview The network overview ​ p age shows generic network statistics together with an up-to-date overview of all ​ P 0x​ wireless devices and the ​ M 02​ VersaSense Edge Gateway.
  • Page 5 The current network topology includes information about the actual links between ​ P 0x wireless devices individually and the ​ M 02​ Edge Gateway. ​ Y our VersaSense IoT Fabric evaluation Note – Network bandwidth versus battery lifetime: kit is pre-configured with a default network bandwidth rate. Changing this bandwidth is possible using the APIs, however, influences overall network lifetime as it determines the duty cycling behaviour of a wireless device.

Connecting to the live data stream The ​ l ive stream page displays a set of individual sensor or actuator panels containing live data produced by the peripherals present inside the network. This page is dynamically generated and it might take some time (depending on the current sampling rates) before you see data appearing on the page.
