THE HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE LEADING TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. CAUTION TURN THE FACEPIECE ASSEMBLY CAREFULLY TO INSTALL. DO NOT FORCE. THE EPIC 3 RDI VOICE AMPLIFIER SHOULD FIT SNUGLY TO THE FACEPIECE. IF THE FACEPIECE ASSEMBLY WILL NOT TURN, CHECK THE ALIGNMENT AND CONFIRM THAT THE AUDIO ACCESSORY BRACKET IS PROPERLY INSTALLED. -

THE MOTOROLA APX™ RADIO AND XE RSM NOTE: BEFORE OPERATING THE EPIC 3 RDI VOICE AMPLIFIER WITH THE APX RADIO, PLEASE ENSURE THE APX RADIO FIRMWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO R15.00 OR HIGHER AND THE RADIO HAS BEEN CONFIGURED FOR BLUETOOTH OPERATION. - Page 12 Ensure the APX radio is powered on and the Bluetooth indicator appears in the top right hand corner. RDI VOICE AMPLIFIER/APX RADIO TRANSMIT & RECEIVE OPERATION After the EPIC 3 RDI Voice Amplifier & APX Radio have been Bluetooth paired, follow the instructions below to transmit & receive. To activate radio transmit on the RDI Voice Amplifier, press the Push-to- Talk (PTT) button on the Motorola XE RSM. -

SWITCHING BETWEEN RADIO / XE RSM COMMUNICATION MODES To switch the EPIC 3 RDI Voice Amplifier / APX radio communication system back to APX radio / XE RSM communication mode, the Bluetooth connection between the RDI Voice Amplifier and APX radio must be disconnected. This can be accomplished by powering off the RDI Voice Amplifier OR turning off the APX radio Bluetooth feature. -

Alternatively, the Bluetooth pairing information can also be removed by pressing the BT On/Off button (1-dot side button) for two seconds.
