If the cancel light glows and the Breville Breakfast Pack LTA520 Series toaster does not stay down to toast, try the following steps:

1. Check Power Connection – Ensure the toaster is plugged into a working 230V or 240V power outlet and switched on.
2. Adjust Browning Control – Set the variable browning control to a different level and try again.
3. Clean the Crumb Tray – Remove and clean the crumb tray to prevent blockages that could affect operation.
4. Reset the Toaster – Unplug the toaster, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and try again.
5. Verify Toasting Slots – Ensure the bread is properly placed in the slots and not obstructing the mechanism.
6. Check for Mechanical Obstructions – Make sure nothing is blocking the lever from staying down.

If the issue persists, the toaster may require professional inspection or servicing.
