1. Introduction

WE-7020S is designed for Wit-Eye series DVRs to integrated with other devices that
adopt RS-232 as the output interface(ex. POS, ATM, Access Control System, etc.). The
basic functions of WE-7020S is that it can auto-capture the text info of RS-232 Output
devices, and superimpose them onto the correspondent DVR's real-time monitoring
images, remote monitoring images and recording images. To change the format of text
info, to use keywords to search recording files, or enable the alarm mechanism, users
have to provide the device related information such as the devices type, brand name,
model number, user s manuals, output data format of RS-232, etc. Softwell will assistant
users to develop their requirements according to the information that was offered.

2. Integration Architecture

Wit-Eye Digital Video Recorder can be integrated with POS system via WE-7020S (One
DVR can be connected with 16 POS systems through 16 WE-7020S devices).
WE-7020S can filter ASCII text info from POS system, and transfer them to readable
text info, then send those data from POS to DVR via TCP/IP. DVR system would
organize and superimpose the text info onto designated screen.

Hardware Installation and Software Settings Hardware Installation The main function of WE-7020S is to intercept signals that POS device transmits to printer side, so users have to set the argument (Baud Rate, etc.) the same with POS Printer. (Note: Definitions of TX(transmitted), Rx(Received), GND(signal ground) are different with DB9 and DB25.)
  • Page 3 2. There are two selections under the button “View”: a. Refresh b. Exit a. Refresh: Click it to refresh the information if there are any new WE-7020S being connected, or the IP Addresses are floated. b. Exit: Click it to exit and close the Ethernet Manager Window.

  • Page 5 (2) DHCP client: Enable or Disable (3) Destination IP address / socket port(TCP client and UDP): To set the correspondent DVR’s IP Address and its Socket port(set as 2002) (4) Packet mode of serial input: Set as Enable (5) Device ID: The correspondent number to DVR. (ex. 1 as the camera 1 of the DVR).
