We live at the end of a water supply. Recently the supply has been broken (by a neighbouring farmer) a couple of times and the system has been filled with turbid filthy water. After it has been cleared the water pressure both hot and cold has reduced. Is there a water supply filter in the boiler that would need cleaned? Is it something I can do myself - I'm not a plumbing engineer. We have a Grant Vortex Condensing 28 boiler fitted in 2017. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, the Grant Vortex Condensing 28 boiler can be fitted with the Mag One magnetic filter, which helps remove debris from the heating system. If water pressure is reduced due to turbid (dirty) water, the Mag One filter may need cleaning.

Servicing the filter involves draining it, removing the filter element, rinsing with clean water, and reassembling. While the process is described clearly, it involves handling valves, draining water, and ensuring proper reassembly. It is advisable for someone with basic mechanical skills, but not recommended for someone with no plumbing or maintenance experience.
