8. Troubleshooting

Before requesting for repairs, please walk through the Troubleshooting below
Problem
No indication appears on
the display when the
selector switch is set to
"BATT" or "MEAS".
The battery alarm lamp is
lit or blinking when
selector switch is set to
"BATT" or "MEAS".
The reading of the display
does not stabilize in the
measurement.
Cause
Battery life.
Battery polarity is
reversed.
Battery life.
The temperature of the
grease sample is too
high to measure.
The sampling port
becomes warm.

Remedy
Remove the batteries and insert
again (page 4).
Insert batteries correctly with
respect to their polarity (page 4).
Replace batteries (page 4).
Lower the temperature of the
grease sample and measure.
Hold a finger grip of sampling
container and measure again.
