Long exposure makes noise cunspicuous. When tile shutter speed is one secoud or slower.
noise reduction is activated to reduce the grainy noise that is commun in long exposures.

When a long exposure of one second or longer takes place,
the noise reduction process is perfunned for the duration that
the shutter was ()pen. While the noise reduction is being
performed, the message "Processing..." appears on the LCD
monitor. You cannot take the next picture until the process is
over.

This mode does not perfurm noise reduction. This is suitable
when timing of shooting takes precedence. However, this
makes the noise more conspicuous. It is recommended that
you activate the noise reduction if you use long exposure.
