When installing against raised face flanges,
spacer rings should be used to provide a
flat surface to the face of the valve flange.
A deep stuffing box around the stem holds
PTFE chevron packing, which achieves a
leak-tight seal with minimum pressure
from the gland for ease of maintenance.
