Chapter 2 Basic Operation During a Meeting
You can use the files created by Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or
Microsoft PowerPoint. The Multimedia Terminal opens these files using
the viewer application, and these files can be reffered each other. Since the
data conference use NetMeeting, you can use its program sharing function,
and you can transmit a file and use the white board.
Notes
• Set T.120 Data to On in the Dial Setup menu and Answer Setup menu to
use this function.
• You cannot hold a data conference:
– When connecting using the V.35 or RS-449 interface.
• You may not be able to hold a data conference depending on the remote
system.
• The color of the screen may be strange when using the program sharing
function. To view the file in the same color, transmit the file to the
remote terminal and open the file at the remote terminal.
You cannot hold a data conference while a conference using an MCU is
in progress.
• USB equipment, such as an USB keyboard, USB mouse, should be
required as follows:
– For Windows 2000 professional
– The total current of the connected USB devices is less than 0.5 A
including rush-current (Except the external power supply devices).
– When using the PCS-E600 Extention Hub, the USB device should
allow to access via 2 stage hub.
For details on the T.120 Data setting, see "Dial Setup Menu" on page 32 and
"Answer Setup Menu" on page 36.
You can use the files stored in the hard disk, "Memory Stick" that is
inserted in the Desktop Terminal, or floppy disk that is inserted in a USB
floppy disk drive.
Notes
• The files which have the following extensions are available on this
system:
".jpg", ".doc", ".xls", ".ppt", ".pdf", ".nmw", ".wht"
• ".jpg" indicates the file created in the JPEG format.
• ".doc" indicates the file created by Microsoft Word.
• ".xls" indicates the file created by Microsoft Excel.
• ".ppt" indicates the file created by Microsoft PowerPoint.
• ".pdf" indicates the file created in the PDF format.
• ".nmw" indicates the file created by NetMeeting ver. 3.01.
• ".wht" indicates the file created by NetMeeting ver. 2.11.
• When the file name is too long, the characters not displayed are indicated
as "...".
• Do not remove the "Memory Stick" while its directory is displayed on the
screen.
