    General Instructions 2. When lifting pipe, lower the front of the Grasshopper by lifting the handled end and inserting the hook on the front of the Grasshopper into the pipe. Sumner’s Grasshopper pipe dolly enables one person to quickly and easily move flanges, fittings and pipe up to 40 feet in length, or up to 2,000 lbs (900 kg).
  • Page 4 7. Lower the handled end of the Grasshopper, lifting the front end of the load. 5. Hold the nose of the Grasshopper down by placing CautIOn a foot on the lifting hook. the weight of the load on the front end will cause the back end of the Grasshopper to raise.
  • Page 5 9. The load is now fully supported by the Grasshopper 5. Disconnect the chain from the chain block hook in ready to be moved. Lift the handled end of the the front and slide it out from underneath the load.
  • Page 6 6. The load is now disconnected from the Grasshopper. Walk back up the length of the Grasshopper while lowering the handled end. Position the Grasshopper so that the hook end is facing the end of the pipe now elevated on the wood block.
