shutter speed, and focus the lens at the
most suitable distance. Now watch the
view in the finder, and approach the sub-
ject until the two halves of the image in
the rangefinder field coincide, or the pic-
ture is sharp on the ground glass ring.
Then just check the view once more, and
release.
E.l:posures from a Tripod
The
CONTAFLEX
can be mounted on a tri-
pod (Fig. 17) by mea ns of the tripod bush
(2 1) . A ball-a nd-sock et head or similar tri-
pod head is required for upright photo-
graphs. To avoid camera shake, us e a cable
release (see page 37); this screws into the
threaded socket in the release button ( 14) .
