5 UNPACKING THE RECHARGEABLE
BATTERY
Only unpack a new rechargeable battery from the
original packaging when you want to use it.
6 DETERMINING THE CHARGE
STATUS OF THE RECHARGEABLE
BATTERY (03 - page 4)
There is a control panel with a pushbutton (03/1)
and LED charge status displays (03/2 to 03/5) on
the front of the rechargeable battery.
1. Press the pushbutton (03/1).

The charge status displays light accord-
ing to the charge status of the rechargea-
ble battery.
2. To identify the charge status, see section
"Charge status displays on the rechargeable
battery".

tery is fully discharged
or the rechargeable
battery has been over-
heated/undercooled.
7 CHARGING THE RECHARGEABLE

DANGER!
Danger of fire during charging!
The charger heats up when charging.
There is a danger of fire if the charger is
placed on a flammable surface and is
not adequately ventilated.

Always use the charger on a non-in-
flammable surface and in a
non-combustible environment.
NOTE
Fully charge the rechargeable battery
before using it for the first time.
The rechargeable battery can be
charged in any charge status. Interrupt-
ing charging does not damage the re-
chargeable battery.
1. Insert the rechargeable battery (02/1) in the
charger (02/2) and plug the power plug (02/3)
into the power outlet.

The charging process begins and the
LED for indicating the operating status
(02/4) flashes green.
2. Observe the LED (02/4). Complete charging
takes approx. 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on
the battery capacity.

The charging process ends automatically
when the rechargeable battery is fully
charged. The LED (02/4) then lights per-
manently green.
3. Disconnect the power plug (02/3) when the
LED (02/4) lights permanently green.
4. Press and hold the lock knob on the under-
side of the rechargeable battery. Then pull
the rechargeable battery (02/1) out of the
charger (02/2).
