This guide provides instructions to initially setup the R16 (16 channel) digital video recorders (DVR). The DVR supports these advanced
features:

Mouse control
A standard 3-button (left / right / scroll-wheel) USB mouse can also be used with this DVR. To use a USB mouse:
1.
Plug the USB mouse into the either the front panel or back panel USB connector of the DVR.
2.
When the recorder is powered on, the mouse will be automatically detected. If the mouse is not detected, the mouse may not be
compatible with the DVR. Please refer to the recommended device list from your provider.

Description
RCA connector for audio in cable
BNC connectors for camera video channels in
Connector VGA monitor cable.
Connector for RS-485 devices. Connect the D+ and D- terminals to T+ and T- of PTZ receiver respectively.
(+, –) pins connect to R+ and R- pins of PTZ receiver respectively. For cascading devices, the first DVR's +, – pins should be
connected with the +, – pin of the next DVR.
RCA connector for audio out cable.
Connector HDMI monitor cable.
RJ-45 connector for Ethernet drop cable.
USB (3.0) for a USB mouse or USB memory device such as a flash drive or DVD drive. A USB port is also located on the front panel.
Plug for 12 Vdc power adapter (provided).
Ground terminal. Connect to earth ground.

Page 3: Step 3. Connect Devices To The Dvr
The example shown here is for an R16 DVR. To install an HDD: Do not apply power to the DVR at this time. Lay the DVR on a clean, flat table, and then remove the five cover screws shown in the picture below on the left. CAUTION Step 3. -
Page 4: Step 4. Using The Wizard For Basic Configuration Setup
Some monitors have multiple inputs such including VGA ,HDMI, BNC, etc. If you are using this kind of monitor, configure your monitor to NOTE display the input connected to your DVR (HDMI or VGA). Cable the HDMI or VGA connector to your monitor’s HDMI or VGA input. The HDMI interface provides the best performance. Plug the mouse provided into the USB connector on the front or back of the DVR. - Page 5 Repeat the pattern you entered, and then click Apply to save the configuration. The configuration Wizard initial screen will open. Using the Wizard for initial configuration It is preferred to have fixed network settings instead of dynamic settings, however. To change from dynamic network settings Use the Wizard to setup the basic configuration of your system.
- Page 6 PPPoE: PPPoE is an advanced protocol that allows the DVR to connect to the network more directly via DSL modem. Check the Enable PPPOE box, and then enter the User name and Password of the PPPoE. Click Next to continue. Use the Date/Time menu to set the Date, Time, Date Format, Time Format, Time Zone, NTP and DST (daylight savings time).
