Hello,
I have a Racor LDL-1B ladder lift, and I'm wondering if the rope got twisted somehow. Is there a diagram showing how the rope should be threaded through the two pulleys attached to the **** the ladder end?
I've had this ladder lift for about 10 years and it has worked great. I use it only once a year, maybe twice. The last few times I've used it, it has been difficult to lower the ladder from the ceiling to the floor. After inspecting the pulley mechanism near the ladder, I could see rope had come off of both pulleys somehow and was wedged in between the two pulleys. I managed to 'squeeze' the rope back into the pulleys and that has helped. But before declaring victory, I'd like to make sure the rope is threaded correctly on both pulleys and up to the pulleys on the ceiling. If it is misthreaded, I'm not sure how that could've happened, but would like to double check just in case.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The rope on a Racor LDL-1B ladder lift should be threaded through the pulleys so that it reduces the lifting weight by four times. Ensure the rope stays within the pulley grooves, loop it through the metal hook, and leave enough slack. After threading, pull the rope slowly to raise the ladder, and the rope will lock itself to hold the ladder in place.
