- Page 3 DESCRIPTION OF BUTTONS: PUSH TARE BUTTON: When the scale is on, if the platter is empty and the scale shows a reading other then zero, press the PUSH TARE button for approximately 3 seconds. To TARE is to remove the weight of an item that is on the scale platform.
