Preparing Your modu™ W device for Use This chapter explains how what you need to do in order to start using your modu™ W. Changing to Sleep Mode When Not in Use The purpose of changing the screen to sleep mode when not in use is to save the battery’s power. If this option is on, the modu™ W automatically goes into the sleep mode after a certain time period (the default time period is 30 seconds), and when wakes up the displayed screen will be the last screen you were on. Note: You will still be able to receive messages and calls while the modu W screen is off. Access the Home screen. Press the Menu button. The Menu appears: Touch the Settings option. The Settings screen appears: Touch the Sound & display option. The Sound & display menu appears: Touch the Screen timeout option in the Display settings section. The Screen timeout screen displays. Locking / Unlocking Your modu W When Not in Use You can protect that data on your modu™ W by locking your modu W screen. The advantage of locking the screen is to prevent accidental screen touches when the modu W is in your backpack, purse, or pocket. There are two locking options: By the power key By the locking pattern Note: If a locking pattern option is enabled, when wanting to unlock the screen, you will be required to draw the correct a pattern to unlock it. A rechargeable battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times. However, it will eventually wear out – this is not a defect. When the talk‐time or standby time is noticeably shorter, it is time to replace your battery. Minor variations in display brightness and color may occur between phones. There may be tiny bright or dark dots on the display. These are called defective pixels and occur when individual dots have malfunctioned and cannot be adjusted. Two defective pixels are deemed acceptable. Minor variations in camera image appearance may occur between phones. This is not uncommon and is not regarded as a defective camera module.
