  • Page 14 Chapter 1 Installation Adequate airflow — The NEXIO frames require adequate airflow around the chassis to provide sufficient cooling. All components draw air in through the front and exhaust via the rear of the frame. The surfaces must be clear of obstructions to provide proper air circulation and cooling.

    NEXIO NX1010 Series Hardware Guide Rear Panel Port The following sections describe the NX1010 series rear panel port Descriptions connections. Do not use wire or plastic ties on cables as this can impede cable performance. Use soft cable ties such as Velcro-based ties for wrapping cables.

    Chapter 1 Installation Ethernet Ethernet teaming is an industry standard method that lets you increase bandwidth when needed or create hardware redundancy in case one or Teaming more Ethernet interfaces fail.     Chapter 1 Installation NX1010MIOH The NX1010MIOH (Media Host) is designed to support N + 1 NX1010MIOHs streaming data from Fibre Channel shared storage over Ethernet to clients (I/O nodes) that are attached via Ethernet. This system design allows NEXIO to scale to very large channel counts, without being vulnerable to single points of failure in the connective layer.

    Chapter 1 Installation NX1010PTCD The NX1010PTCD enables you to read high resolution files from the NEXIO SAN (in all NEXIO supported standard definition and high definition formats) through the quad port Fibre Channel adapter or via Ethernet through a NX1010MIOH (Media Host). The NX1010PTCD then performs a real-time transcode of up to four independent, simultaneous streams and writes those proxy files to the NX2101LRS (Browse) server.

    Chapter 3 Monitoring Status NEXIO Monitor In addition to the front panel LED indicator lights, the NX1010 series has local machine monitoring software called NEXIO Monitor. NEXIO Monitor is software that runs as an application in your Windows system tray. See Figure 3-6.

    Chapter 4 Troubleshooting The Power Supply Module Identify and Symptom: Replace Bad Power The alarm is heard. Supply Module What to do: 1 Look at the LEDs located on the front panel and the power supply modules on the back of the NX1010 series. A gray LED indicates that the power supply module is not powered on or may be defective.
