Troubleshooting Guide

if the fittings will not seal properly:
• Check to see if the expander head is screwed
on tightly.
- Tighten the head.
• Check to see if the exapnder head segments are bent
or misaligned.
- Replace the expander head.
Are the expander head segments not properly
•
contracting between expansions?
Clean and relubricate the expander head.

- Check to see if the expander cone is
properly lubricated.
- Clean and relubricate the expander cone.
• has the fitting been damaged?
- Replace the fitting.
Was the PEX tubing removed while the expander
•
cone was in the expanded postion?
Cut 2" (50 mm) from the PEX tubing and restart
-
the process.
• is the PEX tubing and Ring dry?
- Wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
• is there grease from the expander head inside the
PEX tubing?
- Wipe off all grease from inside the PEX tubing and
relubricate the expander head.
The Ring slides during the expansion process:
• is the PEX tubing and Ring dry?
- Wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth
• Are your hands clean and dry?
- Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Oils from
your hands can lubricate the PEX tubing and Ring.
• is the Ring being held properly in place?
- Use your thumb to hold the ring in place for the first
couple of exapansions.
