Dual Phone Line Switching Option
The Dual Phone Line Switching Option allows the DiaLog Elite to automatically switch
between 2 phone lines when the primary line does not have a dial-tone present.
The option utilizes 2 relays on a standard relay card to switch the phone tip and ring
connections from one phone line to another.
Phone numbers are programmed exactly the same as if there is only 1 phone line available.
The Elite automatically determines if the line has a dial-tone, and if not switches to the
other phone line.

Operation

The following sequence is followed for making calls.
©
Antx, inc. 2004
1.
When a call is to be made, the Elite checks for a dial-tone on the primary
line.
2.
If a dial-tone is detected, then the call is made.
3.
If there is NO dial-tone, then the Elite waits the amount of time specified in
the Alarm Delay (default is 30 seconds) for the specified phone number.
4.
When the Alarm Delay expires, the Elite activates 2 relays to switch between
the primary phone line and the backup phone line.
5.
If a dial-tone is detected, then the call is made.
6.
The backup phone line will continue to be used until the system performs a
Phone Line check, which is automatically performed every 2 hours.
A manual Phone Line check can be performed from the RUN mode by
pressing the PHONE (4) key.
7.
If the Elite is using the backup phone line and a Phone Line check determines
that the primary phone line has a dial-tone, then the primary phone line will
be used for the next call.
