Operational description

Abstract
Text on Top is a
product that provides
a solution to display
captions (subtitles) on
a remote computer
screen or projector
without
interfering
with
the
active
application(s). A typical example is providing subtitles
on top of a PowerPoint presentation. A minimum setup
consists of two Text on Top Devices: one is the
transmitter where the text/captions is produced by an
interpreter; the second acts as the receiver and is
responsible for displaying the subtitles. It is however
possible to have multiple receivers that allow receiving
the text on several independent computer systems.
Data transmission
The text and appearance settings are transmitted using
a wireless radio connection that operates in the
868/915MHz ISM band. Text is usually transferred in
verbatim mode, meaning each new word is transmitted
separately in small data package and the text shall
appear in real-time fashion to the audience.
