Installing switches and cables
Wet Rooms: on/off switch must be
!
situated so that it cannot be touched
by persons making use of the bath or shower.
A means for disconnection in all poles must be
!
incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance
with wiring regulations.
• I f metal switch boxes are used, earthing
regulations must be followed.
• T he cross-sectional area of the supply cord
used should be ranged between 1-1.5mm².
• V X100 / VX120 / VX150 – 2 core,
VX100T / VX120T / VX150T – 3 core.
• V X100T / VX120T / VX150T. A wall or
ceiling on/off switch (with indicator light)
is recommended.
Step 1
Check that the electrical rating shown on
the fan matches your mains supply.
Step 2
Check there are no buried pipes or cables
e.g. electricity, gas, water behind the switch
location (in the wall or above the ceiling).
If in doubt, seek professional advice.
Step 3
Isolate the mains supply.
Step 4
Install the isolating switch and
on/off switch (if required).
Step 5
Lay in the cable from the isolating switch
to the fan location via the on/off
switch (if required).
Step 6
Lay in the cable from the isolating
switch to the point of connection to
the mains supply.
Warning: Do not make any connections
!
to the electrical supply at this stage.
Step 7
Make all connections within the isolating
switch and the on/off switch (if required).

Fan installation

Step 1 – Preparing the fan

for installation
• U ndo the electrical cover screw and remove
the electrical cover.
If working above ground floor level, safety
!
precautions must be observed.
If installing in a ceiling, appropriate
!
termination ancillaries are required
Step 2 – Mount the fan body

• I f wall mounting, ensure fan body is
orientated horizontally see E.

Step 3 – Wire the electrical

connections
• M ake sure mains supply is isolated. Switch off
the mains electrical supply and remove fuses.
• P lease ensure you follow the right diagram
and installation type for the model you have
purchased see H.
• Use cable clamp to secure cable.

Fan settings
VX100T / VX120T / VX150T

• T o adjust the over-run see I. For location of
the timer control see J.
• O perate the fan using on/off switch (not
provided). When switch is off, fan operates
for the set time delay.
VX100 / VX120 / VX150
• O perate fan using on/off switch
(not supplied).
Finally refit the electrical cover 'O' ring seals
(where applicable) and screw in place.
Cleaning
Step 1 – Before cleaning
I solate the fan completely from the mains supply.
Step 2 – No water or chemicals
Do not immerse the fan in water or other liquids to
clean any other parts of the fan. Do not use strong
detergents, solvents or chemical cleaners.
Guarantee UK
We, Redring Xpelair Group Limited, provide a
guarantee against faulty parts and manufacture
for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
In the unlikely event of a product breakdown
during the guarantee period the product should
be returned to the place of purchase or to
Redring Xpelair Group Limited.
Exclusions:
• T his guarantee does not cover compensation
for the loss of the product or consequential
loss of any kind.
• D amage or defects to the product arising from
incorrect installation or lack of maintenance.
• T ransportation costs.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
