PIKA T1/E1 (HMP) PCIe Board Preface Organization The document is divided into several sections, each of which covers a particular section of the PIKA Digital T1/E1 PCIe hardware. Regulatory Warnings Industry Canada (IC) Equipment Attachment Limitations NOTICE: The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification means the equipment meets certain telecommunications network protective, operational safety requirements.
If so, you will be given advance notice of the change to give you an opportunity to maintain uninterrupted service. Related Documentation The following documents are related to the PIKA Digital T1/E1 PCIe Board Hardware Manual. These documents are linked together and constitute the complete set of documentation for the AoH SDK product. Software...
Introduction The PIKA Digital T1/E1 PCIe card provides a solution for voice and data applications with four spans available for use with T1 or E1 connectivity (SW configurable). The card is part of the HMP family of PIKA cards; all digital signal processing is done on the host processor.

PIKA T1/E1 (HMP) PCIe Board 4.1 Compliance NOTE: The term self-declared indicates the card was tested by a third-party test facility, but does not require an official approval number by a country or region’s approval standard authority. For the TBR21 Telecom specification, testing was performed by an in-house test facility.

Approval Approval Description Number United States / Canada CSA C22.2 No. 950 Safety standard for IT and telecom equipment. NRTL/C Europe EN60950 Self-declared Safety of IT and electrical business equipment. ROHS The Digital T1/E1 PCIe board is 2002/95/RoHS 6 compliant.
• Connector pinouts ( see page 10) – description of each electrical connection on all connectors Block Diagram The following figure is a high-level diagram of the circuitry on the Digital T1/E1 PCIe board. Any components located within the large dashed lines indicate components located on the board.
PIKA T1/E1 (HMP) PCIe Board The heart of the Digital T1/E1 PCIe board is the Altera EP2C20 FPGA that streams data to and from the host processor through its DMA controller providing a minimum amount of latency. The FPGA also controls and monitors the line reference clocking in conjunction with the DPLL.
Jumper Settings The Digital T1/E1 PCIe card has four jumpers that correspond to the four T1/E1 digital line interface jacks, as shown in the following figure. If a line is going to be used for digital logging, the corresponding jumper must be removed from the card. For example, Jumper 1 must be removed if Span 1 is going to be used for digital logging.

The Digital T1/E1 PCIe board digital line interface connectors are terminated with an industry-standard RJ-48C connector. Each connector provides access to a T1/E1 digital line interface. the following figure shows the RJ-48C digital line interface jack pinouts. The Transmit and Receive lines are with respect to the Digital T1/E1 PCIe card, not the Telco line.
