Dizzi Installation manual. Version 2 1. Introduction The Operation Manual contains guidelines and rules which refer to Eurosens Dizzi fuel level sensors (hereinafter sensors), developed by JSC Mechatronics, Vilejka, Belarus (mechatronics.by). Ultrasonic level sensor Eurosens Dizzi is used for non‐contact (non‐invasive) level measurement of acoustically transparent liquids. Level measurement is performed by the external echolocation through the bot‐ tom of the tank. You can measure also other parameters of liquid when sensor is installed at side wall. Sensor can have interfaces: RS‐485 (LLS, MODBUS protocol) Analog (voltage 0‐5Volts) ...

3.1.1. Prepare tools and materials for installation. 3.1.2. Choose sensor installation location and clean it from dirt and rust. It is recommended to prepare several possible installation places. 3.1.3. For optimal sensor operation mode it is necessary to install it at the lowest point on the center of the tank. 3.1.4. Inside the tank, above the point where the sensor should be no walls or other structural elements of the tank. Do not install the sensor in the weld and other non‐flatness of the tank. 3.1.5. The working surface of the sensor should be parallel to the liquid sur‐ face, i.e., horizontal.. Figure 1. Choosing an installation place 3.1.6. Connect sensor to PC with a help of USB/RS‐485. www.mechatronics.by...
3.2.3. At the time of installation, you must install a fixed gain coefficient (other than "Auto") = 25. 3.2.4. Slightly changing the position of the sensor, to achieve maximum‐term amplitude of the first echo signal. Also check the parameter "installation quality”. The best installation place for the sensor would be a place where there are a several echoes, as well as where the amplitude of the first echo signal is maximized at the lowest gain. www.mechatronics.by...
Dizzi Installation manual. Version 2 4. Attaching of the sensor 4.1. Attaching by the metal tape 4.1.1. Secure a lock on the metal tape as shown at picture below. 4.1.2. Whap the tape around the tank, so that it passes through the center of the best location of the sensor installation and screw the lock is in a convenient location for tightening. 4.1.3. Pull the tape, sufficient that the sensor did not fall, but you can take it out without a lot of effort. www.mechatronics.by...
Dizzi Installation manual. Version 2 4.1.4. Clean and dry the installation location and the top cover of the sensor. 4.1.5. Connect sensor to the PC, run the software "CAY_Oscilloscope". 4.1.6. Prepare glue according to recipe. 4.1.7. Gently press the sensor to tank, bubbles and dirt in the area of installa‐ tion are not allowed. 4.1.8. Bend the free end of the tape, to prevent access to the lock screw and seal as shown in the figure below. 4.1.9. Full by glue the gap between the top of the sensor and bottom of the tank. 4.2. Sensor mounting with a help of magnets 4.2.1. The centers of the magnets should be aligned with the center of the sensor and equidistant from it to evenly distribute the mechanical load. 4.2.2. For mounting to the cylindrical surface magnet and the sensor are located in manner that line crosses their centers, parallel to the axis of the cylindrical sur‐ face. 4.2.3. Clean the installation location from paint and rust. 4.2.4. Clean and dry the installation location and the top cover of the sensor and magnets. www.mechatronics.by...
3. Remember that casing of the Dizzi has electric connection with “ground” wire. Direct connection to the vehicle battery at the vehicles with battery circuit breaker (ground switch) is NOT recommended. Connect “ground” wire after ground switch. 6. Sensor configuration 6.1. Measure the distance from the bottom of the tank to the maximum lev‐ el. 6.2. Run the program "CAY_Configuration" and make necessary settings. Please, refer to the Dizzi Configuration manual. www.mechatronics.by...
Dizzi Installation manual. Version 2 All other software which use COM‐port must be closed befor writing new configuration to the sensor! 7. Tank calibration The calibration of tank is needed to receive level ‐> volume table of conversion. The sensor measures the length directly in units of length, which allows replace‐ ment of the sensor without new tank calibration. Calibration can be performed in several ways. Tank refilling method. . The liquid is poured by the known portions. Both liquid level and liquid volume is registered in table № Level, mm Volume in the tank, liters 1…20 This table is a tank characteristic and can be processed by external software. www.mechatronics.by...

Dizzi Installation manual. Version 2 9. Storage Eurosens 9.1. Dizzi sensors should be stored in closed, dry premises. 9.2. Storage is allowed only in original package at temperature from ‐50 to +40 ° C and relative humidity up to 100% at 25° C. 9.3. Do not store Eurosens flow sensors in the same room with substances that cause corrosion of the metal and / or contain active agents. 9.4. Storage life of eurosens flow sensors should not exceed 12 months. 10. Support E‐mail: support@mechatronics.by 11.
