    Getting Started About AirWay TransPort AirWay TransPort is a high-speed 802.11 wireless networking product that allows you to: Build a fast, flexible, secure Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) in your home or small business. Connect WLAN clients to an existing wired (Ethernet-based) LAN.

    Adding Computers To The Network To add a computer to your AirWay network, you must complete the following steps: Install network card (PCI or PCMCIA) Install TransPort drivers and software Note: You may be asked for your Windows CD-ROM during software installation.

    Install the TransPort drivers and software. Installing a PCMCIA Card Use the following procedure to install a PCMCIA card in a laptop computer. Turn off your laptop. Insert the AirWay PCMCIA card into the card slot on the laptop. Turn the laptop back on. Install the TransPort drivers and software.
  • Page 13 Note: The last eight digits of the TransPort serial number is your network SSID (Service Set Identifier). All computers in the network must have the same SSID. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the TransPort software.

    Managing Your TransPort Network You can perform system administration and configuration from any computer in the network. There are two types of system administration modes: Standard and Advanced. Standard Mode Allows you to view the version and dates of your TransPort software driver, configuration utility and NIC firmware.
