IMPORTANT NOTE:
The evacuation tone for this device conforms to fire evacuation standards AS1670.4. 2004.
The evacuation tone (tempural pattern) conforms to international standards.
Generates pre announcement chime, alert and evacuation tones for Redback amplifiers and mixers.
Installation
1. Switch off and remove power from unit.
2. Remove lid from case.
3. Unscrew the small protector plate on the rear panel to reveal the mounting holes for the A 2073B.
4. Line up the A 2073B with the relevant holes in the rear panel, ensure the trimpots on the board are accessible.
5. Using the screws provided attach the A 2073B module to the rear panel via the green connector.
6. Plug the 10 way IDC cable into the 10 way header situated inside the amplifier or mixer. (Refer to instructions
supplied with your amplifier/mixer for header location)
7. Plug the plastic bushes supplied into the holes on the rear panel through which you can see the trimpots.
8. The A 2073B is now ready for operation
9. The unit is triggered by closing the contacts in the 5 way pluggable header. There are four different trigger inputs:
Alert tone - triggered by a closed contact between AL (alert tone) and GND (ground).
Evac tone - triggered by a closed contact between EV (evac tone) and GND (ground).
Chime - triggered by a closed contact between CH and GND (ground).
Cancel - triggered by a closed contact between CAN (cancel) and GND (ground).

  • Page 2 REDBACK A 2073B Alert Evac Option 10. The A 2073B has a voice over option which is enabled by DIP switch 2. When this DIP switch is set to “ON” the recorded message will play twice after 4 cycles of the evac tone. Note: this voice over will only operate when the A 2073B is in evac mode.
