Depending on the regulations applied the EWLI-3B can also be used as a multi-control system (indicator - limiter ‒ controller), by means of the programmable assignment of outputs (change-over contacts) relative to the levels. The EWLI-3B add-on housing is fastened to the process connections provided on the tank.

    4.2 Function The EWLI-3B level indicator works on the basis of the conductive fill level method of measurement whereby the electric conductivity of the medium is used. The conductivity of the medium is measured in µS/cm. For the secure functioning of this method of measurement a minimum conductivity of the substance to be measured is required.

    4 mA .. 20 mA output of the DU is calculated like that of the CU. 4.3 Setup For ensuring high availability IGEMA recommends the use of 2 power supply units (redundancy). In terms of hardware the CU is designed for operation with 2 power supply units.
