IMPORTANT: Carefully read all instructions and safety

this document with the homeowner for future reference.
WARNING: Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC
installer or electrical professional. Improper installation can
cause property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.
Intended Use
The Thermostat is used as part of the ABB-free@home
controls the temperature and humidity in a house or an apartment.

holes/marks from old thermostat
1. Turn OFF the power to the heating/cooling system by switching off the
breaker or with the switch that controls the heating/cooling system.
Check to make sure the old system is OFF by changing the
temperature. If the system does not turn on within 5 minutes, the
power is OFF.
2. Remove the old thermostat cover. Do NOT remove any wires from the
thermostat.
3. Take a picture of the old thermostat's wiring.

4. Label the wires with the wire labels provided. The ABB
Thermostat requires a "C"-wire. If there is no "C"-wire the
wiring must be changed.
IMPORTANT: The ABB Thermostat does NOT work with 120 V
or higher! If the existing thermostat is labeled 120 V or 240 V,
has thick black wires with wire nuts, or has L1 or L2 terminal
blocks: DO NOT connect device!
