When connecting kobold lamps to ballast units of other brands, or kobold ballast units to lamps of other brands, and / or accessories of other brands to kobold lamps, integrated safety measures may become ineffective! Due to different design features and contact assignment of the lamp plugs of other brands, the user himself / herself may even be at risk.

The fixtures may only be operated with intact safety glasses. Lamps may explode. The safety glass will retain the hot glass fragments. Only original kobold safety glasses must be used. With due allowance for heat radiation, the distance between the lamp and a person or between the lamps and inflammable, respectively heat sensitive surfaces, should be at a minimum distance of 1 m / 3.3 feet!
Start up The EBE 200.400.575.800 DMX is an electronic ballast unit designed for mains voltages from 90 V to 265 V. The unit adjusts automatically to the mains (AC-line) voltage applied. It is suited for operation with 200, 400, 575 and 800 Watt fixtures with hot restrike (HR) lighting means, which means the fixture may be switched on again at any time while hot, making waiting time unnecessary.
DMX: The ballast unit has 2 DMX 512 connection sockets (14+15). There are 3 rotary switches (16) on the front panel to select the DMX channel. If the unit is connected with DMX, the DMX-value has always priority. On receipt of a DMX- value, a manual setting of the ballast unit becomes deactivated.
6. Operation of kobold ballast units with motor- generators kobold ballast units are basically suitable for operation with motor-generators provided that the supply voltage remains within the tolerance limits of 200-264 V or 95-135 V respectively, under all load conditions (including capacitive load). Experience has shown that this usually requires electronically stabilised motor-generators.
