The drawoutmechanism subassembly is shown
in
Fig,
27, It
is
mounted
ontle
bottom
of the breaker
front frame, as
shown
in Fig.
28.
Thebearing sup-
ports
(4), Fig.
21, are
fastened
to the sides of
the
breaker frame.
As the
racking handle
is
turned, the internally
threaded
trunnion (1), 3'tg.
2?,
moves
on
the power
screw threads, rotating thehex shaft, on tlre
ends

of which are fastened the arms(5) which
engage
the
fixed pins in the drawout enclosure.
The
trunnion travels
between the
two jamb
nuts
(2)
on
the
end
of
the
power
screw,
and the
adjustment
sleeve, which stops the trunnion
movement
at the
other extreme point of its
travel.
The trunnion is
against
the
jamb
nuts when the
breaker is
fully
racked
out and
against
the sleeve
when
fully
racked
in.
The racking mechanism is adjusted
at
the
factory
assembly
operation
so
that the
action
is
stopped
in
either directionat
the
preciselycorrect
point.
The
length
of the
sleeve, which
is free
to
slide
on the
threadedshaft,
is
controlledby the amountof thread
