PLUNGER Principle of Operation Autogard XG Series modular torque limiters include hardened seats in one half of the torque limiter and module sub-assemblies in the other half. Torque is transmitted between the plungers in the module sub-assemblies and seats. If the application torque exceeds the trip torque of the torque limiter the plungers are pushed away from the seats and the torque limiter disengages.
