    I.VA.CO. Srl 1. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this manual is to ease the installation, the operation and the routine maintenance activities of the SC side channel blowers and exhausters. This manual must be completely read and understood by all operating and servicing personnel before beginning with the installation and the start-up of the machine in order to grant the correct functioning and personnel security.

SRL wiII not assume any responsibility under the terms of this warranty for equipment which has not been paid according to the agreed conditions (which are stated in the sales invoice). Within the warranty period, I.VA.CO. SRL will repair or replace, ex works his factory, those parts which are determined to be defective.

    I.VA.CO. Srl Improper use of SC blowers and exhausters can cause serious injuries. Danger is due to: Suction: side channel blowers and exhausters have a very high suction power. Objects, clothing and hair can be easily sucked into the fan and cause injuries. Discharge side: there is a very powerful stream of air from the discharge side.

    I.VA.CO. Srl Ambient temperature must be between -15°C and + 40°C. Humidity must not exceed 80%. Roller motor bearings must be lubricated whenever the machine is stored for more than 2 years under proper conditions and 1 year under adverse conditions (high humidity, salty air or sand, or dust). Before the new start-up, check the insulation resistance of the motor.

Srl SC blowers and exhausters are used to suck, condensate and convey air and gas, or non-explosive, non- flammable, non-aggressive, gas mixtures in a not potentially explosive environment, in continuous operation. SC blowers and exhausters are used in both industrial and standard applications. It is necessary to dismount the flanges in order to connect the accessories. Choose adequate accessories and correct size of pipes in order to avoid performance losses.     I.VA.CO. Srl The start-up must be in compliance with the indicated purpose of use, with the listed values and after having considered prohibitions, obligations and residual risks. Make sure that the machine is not connected to the power supply before operating. Make sure that neither the inlet silencer nor the outlet silencer are clogged or dirty.

    I.VA.CO. Srl 14 . MAINTENANCE Usually SC blowers and exhausters do not require maintenance. Wearing parts service life (bearings and filters) depends on operating conditions. All machines have pre-lubricated bearing with a minimum service life of 12.000 hours. Nevertheless, it is necessary that qualified personnel periodically check the machine in order to avoid possible failures.

    I.VA.CO. Srl Remove the cover (02) hitting with a plastic mallet and use levers, if necessary. Remove the screw (06), the washers (07 and 08) and slide the ball bearing (09), if necessary using an extractor. Remove the impeller (03) if necessary using release pincers. For two stage machines after having removed the first impeller, remove the intermediate case (1.1) and the second impeller (03).

Srl All actions carried out in order to recover from the malfunctioning problems reported in the next table (TAB. 2) must be performed in full safety conditions and, depending on the type of action required, in accordance with the procedures described in the dedicated section of this manual.

    I.VA.CO. Srl 17. PUMP SCRAP AND DISPOSAL When scrapping and tearing down the pump, it is necessary to apply the specific disposal procedures depending on the material of each part of the machine. It is mandatory that the machines internals are cleaned and drained from any hazardous and polluting fluid which can be dangerous to people, to things and to the environment.
