These instructions describe the correct procedure for using the alcohol content tester.
WARNING: Explosive Fuel!
Gasoline is extremely flammable and its vapors can explode if ignited. Store gasoline only in approved containers, in well
ventilated, unoccupied buildings, away from sparks or flames. Do not fill the fuel tank while the engine is hot or running,
since spilled fuel could ignite if it comes in contact with hot parts or sparks from ignition. Do not start the engine near spilled
fuel. Never use gasoline as a cleaning agent.

Installation Instructions
To Use –
1. Add water to the alcohol content tester up to the water
fill line. See Figure 1.
2. Add the gasoline to be tested into the alcohol content
tester up to the neck of the bottle.

To Use –
1. Add water to the alcohol content tester up to the water
fill line. See Figure 1.
2. Add the gasoline to be tested into the alcohol content
tester up to the neck of the bottle.

3. Secure the cap onto the alcohol content tester and shake
vigorously.
4. Set alcohol content tester on a level surface or hold
upright. After a minute, the alcohol and gasoline will
separate, and the gasoline will rise to the top. The
percentage of alcohol lines will indicate the alcohol
content of the fuel. See Figure 1.
5. Properly dispose of the fluid in the tester in accordance
with local regulations.

  • Page 2 Gasohol (up to 10% ethyl alcohol, 90% unleaded gasoline of Alcohol by volume) is approved as a fuel for Kohler engines. Other gasoline/alcohol blends including E20 and E85 are not to be used and not approved. Any failures resulting from use of these fuels will not be warranted.
