NMEA0183 to Wi-Fi Gateway Quick Start Guide
Mounting
Position in a dry location close to where you want
Wi-Fi coverage, where you can access the reset
switch and view the LEDs. Mount with 4
countersunk M4/#8 screws, Velcro or Sta-Lok
(not supplied).
Wiring
To fit the connector block, all wires should be
0.32 - 3.3mm / 22 - 12AWG (0.7 - 2.0mm / 0.03 -

0.08" diameter). Strip back the insulation by
6mm/¼" and insert into connector block. Tighten
the screw until snug.
Power
The gateway operates on 7-30V DC, and draws
under 0.1A at 12V. There is an internal self-
resetting fuse, so generally no in-line fuse is
required.
NMEA
Connect the talker (NMEA output) of your
instruments to the NMEA In on the device,
connecting A to A and B to B (A may be referred
to as Signal, + or Data and B as Ground or -). You
can only connect one NMEA input. If your
instruments just have a single data wire (like
Garmin), connect this to A and connect B to
power -ve.
If required, connect NMEA Out to the listener
(NMEA Input) on the receiving instrument, again
A to A and B to B. You can split the output,
generally to at least 3 separate devices.
