Installation and Instructions for Use
ATTENTION
1. Select a location on trailer frame where switch can be mounted without interfering with jack,
ATTENTION
safety cables, or other tongue mounted equipment. Location should also provide unobstructed
operation and connection of cable.
2. Mark and drill 1/4" hole in trailer frame.
3. Use 1/4" bolt and lock-nut to install switch box with cable and pin aimed toward tow vehicle.
Leave bolt and nut slightly loose to allow switch box ability to pivot.
4. Refer to schematic for proper connection with trailer brake system. Properly insulate all
connection points.
5. Testing: Couple trailer to tow vehicle. Be sure trailer plug is disconnected from tow vehicle. Pull
safety brake pin to engage brakes. Attempt to pull the vehicle forward slowly. When functioning
properly, both driver and passenger trailer brakes should be activated. If brakes do not engage
properly, troubleshoot power supply, wiring connections, brake adjustment and function, and
switch box. Repair or replace as required for proper operation.
6. When ready to tow, connect safety cable directly to tow vehicle. Make sure switch pin is in place,
and properly connect trailer plug and safety chains.
