1.1 Important notes

ATTENTION!
Please observe the flow direction of the plastic tube (VFS measuring
tube). The flow direction is indicated by an arrow on the outside of the
plastic pipe.
ATTENTION!
All components of the DFM 1988 must be installed in a dry and frost-free
location. Ensure that no condensation forms on the electronics module.
ATTENTION!
The electronics module must be mounted on a wall in the immediate
vicinity. The sensor lines are approx. 1.2 m long and must not be
extended.

1.2 Intended use

This device is only intended for use as specified by the manufac-
turer. The device is used to record and evaluate the flow or with-
drawal quantity of domestic hot water, which is heated in the do-
mestic hot water cylinder and must have second heat generator
(e.g. electric supplementary heater) for this purpose.

1.3 Legal regulations and directives

When connecting the flow measuring device to the power supply,
the relevant VDE, EN and IEC standards must be fulfilled. Any
further connection requirements stipulated by local utility compa-

ATTENTION!
Disconnect the power supply before opening the device.
ATTENTION!
The VFS flow sensor must be installed the right way round. This is the
case when the cable outlet of the sensor is on the outflow side of the
measuring tube.
ATTENTION!
The heat output of the electric supplementary heater must be designed so
that, when the minimum volume of water to be drawn is not reached, a
domestic hot water temperature of over 60° can be achieved.
Any other use beyond that intended by the manufacturer is pro-
hibited. This means that the user must also observe all relevant
product information. Tampering with or altering the device is not
permitted.
