    MTRA-FSP Installation & Operation Manual Operation Modes The MTRA-FSP can be configured to operate in either Empty (Discharge) or Fill (Charge) mode. Empty (Discharge) Mode Empty (Discharge) mode is used to pump liquid out of a well once it reaches a preset level.

    MTRA-FSP Installation & Operation Manual Fill (Charge) Mode Fill (Charge) mode is used to fill up a well with liquid when the level falls to a preset level. In this mode the relay operates as follows: The pump activates when the liquid reaches the low level probe.

    • Flashing alarm output (DIP Switch ON) • Pump Alarms There are two types of pump alarms supported by the MTRA-FSP – Thermal and Seal. 6.2.1 Thermal Alarm Input A pump thermal sensor can be wired into the Thermal input. This is used to detect when the pump is overheating due to a blockage or other fault.
  • Page 13 6.2.2 Thermal Backup (BU) Input The MTRA-FSP can be used as a backup pump control device for the MultiSmart Pump Controller and RTU. When used as a backup, the Thermal sensor is wired into the Thermal input, and the MultiSmart Thermal input is wired into the MTRA-FSP Thermal BU input.

    Advanced Settings Probe Sensitivity The MultiTrode Probe is a conductive level sensing device that relies on conductivity through the liquid to earth in order to detect level. For most common applications the default probe sensitivity setting of 20kohms will work correctly.
