5
Terminate the last (or only) SCSI device connected to the
SlimSCSI adapter, per manufacturer's specifications. Most
SCSI devices use a jumper or switch near their SCSI connec-
tor(s) to control termination. On some SCSI devices, you must
physically remove or install terminator resistor modules. An
external terminator is installed in Figures 2-2 and 2-3. See your
device documentation for termination information.
Note:
The SlimSCSI adapter itself is actively termi-
nated by default and cannot be changed, since both
ends of the SCSI bus must be terminated.
6
If the SCSI device(s) connected to the SlimSCSI adapter
requires term power output, this output must be provided by
the device itself. The SlimSCSI adapter does not provide term
power. See your SCSI device documentation for more
information.
7
If you connect more than one SCSI device to your SlimSCSI
adapter simultaneously, make sure that each device's SCSI ID
(device number between 0 and 6) is different. ID 7 is reserved
for the SlimSCSI adapter. Different IDs are essential to prevent
conflicts when the SlimSCSI adapter communicates with the
devices.
