Before operating the system, please read this guide thoroughly and
retain it for future reference.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, do not cover the ventilation opening of the
appliance with newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. Do not expose the
appliance to naked flame sources (for example, lighted candles).
Do not install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or
built-in cabinet.
Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to
excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like for a long time.
The nameplate and important information concerning safety are located
on the bottom exterior.
CAUTION
You are cautioned that any changes or modifications not expressly
approved in this manual could void your authority to operate this
equipment.
Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
Do not expose cells or batteries to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct
sunlight.
In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact
with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area
with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
Do not use any cell or battery which is not designed for use with the
equipment.
Secondary cells and batteries need to be charged before use.
After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and
discharge the cells or batteries several times to obtain maximum
performance.
Dispose of properly.
Precautions
On safety
ˎ Before operating the system, be sure that the operating voltage of the ˎ
system is identical with that of your local power supply.
About micro-USB cables
ˎ To charge, use a micro-USB cable and connect the system to: ˎ
ˋ an AC outlet by using a commercially-available USB AC adaptor (5 V,
at least 0.5 A).
ˋ a USB port of a computer.
ˎ Make sure to use the following supplied micro-USB cable. ˎ
USB Type A plug USB Micro-B plug
(connects to a PC, USB AC adaptor) (connects to the system)
On placement
ˎ Do not set the speaker in an inclined location. ˎ
ˎ Do not leave the system in a location near heat sources, in a place ˎ
subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, moisture, rain, or mechanical
shock, or in a car with its windows closed.
ˎ Do not leave any objects susceptible to magnetism (cash cards, floppy ˎ
disks with magnetic coding, etc.) near the system.
On cleaning
ˎ Do not use alcohol, benzine, or thinner to clean the cabinet. ˎ
Others
ˎ Even if you do not intend to use the system for a long time, charge the ˎ
battery to its full capacity once every 6 months to maintain its
performance.
ˎ If the system is not used for a long time, it may take longer to charge ˎ
the battery.

Notes on water resistant feature
(Read before using the system)
Water resistant performance of the system
This system has a water resistant specification* 1, * 2 of IPX5* 3 as specified
in "Degrees of protection against ingress of water" of the IEC60529
"Ingress Protection Rating (IP Code)." however, this system is not
completely water-tight.
Do not drop the system into hot water in a bathtub or purposely use it in
water.
Liquids that the water resistant performance specifications
apply to
Applicable : fresh water, tap water
Not applicable : liquids other than the above (soapy water, water
with detergent or bath agents, shampoo, hot
spring water, pool water, seawater, etc.)
* 1 Requires that the cap is fastened securely.
* 2 The supplied accessories are not water resistant.
* 3 IPX5 (Degree of protection against jets of water): For details, refer to
help Guide.
The water resistant performance of the system is based on our
measurements under the conditions herein described. Note that
malfunctions as a result of water immersion caused by misuse by the
customer are not covered by the warranty.
To avoid the deterioration of the water
resistant performance
Check the following and use the system correctly.
ˎ Do not use or leave the system in an extremely hot or cold ˎ
environment (temperature outside the range of 5 °C – 35 °C). If the
system is used or left in outside the above range, the system may
automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
ˎ Be careful not to drop the system or subject it to mechanical shock. ˎ
Deformation or damage may cause deterioration of the water
resistant performance.
ˎ Do not use the system in a location where large amount of water or ˎ
hot water may splash on it. The system does not have a design that is
resistant to water pressure. Use of the system in the above location
may cause a malfunction.
ˎ Do not pour high-temperature water or blow hot air from a hair dryer ˎ
or any other appliance on the system directly. Also, never use the
system in high temperature locations such as in saunas or near a
stove.
ˎ handle the cap with care. The cap plays a very important role in ˎ
maintenance of the water resistant performance. When using the
system, make sure that the cap is closed completely. When closing the
cap, be careful not to allow foreign objects inside. Mark is on the
upper side of the cap. If the cap is not closed completely the water
resistant performance may deteriorate and may cause a malfunction
of the system as a result of water entering the system.
Cap
How to care for the system when wet
If the system gets wet, first remove the water from the system, and then
wipe off the moisture on the system using a soft, dry cloth. Especially in
cold regions, leaving moisture on its surface may cause the system to
freeze and malfunction. Be sure to wipe off the moisture after using the
system.
Put the system on towel or dry cloth. Then leave it at room temperature
and dry the system until no moisture remains.
