Chapter 4: Using the Radiation Alert® Frisker
Checking for Surface Contamination
To check a surface, hold the detector window close to the surface (1 cm - 1 in), and read the count rate. Be
careful not to touch the Frisker to any potentially contaminated surfaces to prevent contaminating the unit.
Move the Frisker over the surface in a grid formation at a speed of about 1 inch every 1-2 seconds.
