Using the PROlinetest Manual Using the PROlinetest Keypad When the PROlinetest was developed, emphasis was placed on fast and easy operation. For this reason, the PROlinetest has only seven keys despite its many test options. Function key 1 – ESC Similar to a PC, the ESC key means undo the last step.

PROlinetest Using the PROlinetest 6.2.2 Velocity This is the propagation velocity (VP) of the signal in the cable expressed as a fraction of the speed of light. This information is necessary to measure length with the TDR function. The value must be correct if the measurements are to be precise.

You need to correctly choose the wiring version to be tested to obtain Pass/Fail information. This information must be correct (pin to pair assign- ment) to test for crosstalk. With the PROlinetest, the wire to pin assignment is checked and the correct pair assignment is also checked. This is done with a high frequency test signal to provide true results.
