PROlinetest Using the PROlinetest 6.2.2 Velocity This is the propagation velocity (VP) of the signal in the cable expressed as a fraction of the speed of light. This information is necessary to measure length with the TDR function. The value must be correct if the measurements are to be precise. -

You need to correctly choose the wiring version to be tested to obtain Pass/Fail information. This information must be correct (pin to pair assign- ment) to test for crosstalk. With the PROlinetest, the wire to pin assignment is checked and the correct pair assignment is also checked. This is done with a high frequency test signal to provide true results. -

The main advantage is that it saves time since only one person is required. The unique remote ID numbers show up in the saved records, too. The PROlinetest has two different ways of identifying a known jack on the patch panel, switch or hub. Insert the test cable of the PROlinetest into the outlet box in the room and select Test Link/Blink in the Cable / Wire trace menu. -
