Yaesu SAD-1460 Manual

The SAD-1460 is a rugged 6-Unit Multi Charger that enables recharging of Lithium-Ion battery pack for Yaesu
transceivers. Check with your Yaesu dealer for a list of current transceivers that may be used with the SAD-1460
6-Unit Multi Charger.

perAtiOn
1. Insert the DC plug from the SAD-60 AC Adaptor into
the DC jack on the bottom side of the SAD-1460
6-Unit Multi Charger, then affix the DC plug using
the supplied bracket and two screws.
2. Plug the SAD-60 AC Adaptor into the AC line outlet.
3. Insert the battery pack into any charger slot of the
SAD-1460 while aligning the slots of the battery
pack with the guides in the nest of the slot; refer
to the illustration below for details on proper posi-
tioning of the pack. If charging with the transceiver
attached, turn the transceiver off, and the antenna
jack should be at the left side when viewing the
charger from the front.
4. If the battery pack is inserted correctly, the LED
indicator will glow red. A fully-discharged pack will
charge completely in 1.5 - 3.5 hours (depending
on the battery being charged).
5. When charging is completed, the LED indicator
will change to green.
6. Disconnect the pack from the charger slot.

 Do not connect an improper AC Adaptor. Use only
the supplied SAD-60 AC Adaptor.
 Do not charge an improper battery (one not specif-
ically designed for use in the SAD-1460).
 Disconnect the pack from the SAD-1460 charger
slot when charging is completed.
 Unplug the SAD-60 AC Adaptor from the wall AC
outlet when the charger is not in use.
 The SAD-60 AC Adaptor and SAD-1460 Multi Char-
ger will generate a moderate amount of heat during
the charging process. This is a normal condition.
 The SAD-1460 6-Unit Multi Charger is designed
for charging only, and is not designed for operation
(transmission/reception) of the transceiver.
 If the LED blinks red, please insert the battery
again. If LED continues blinking red, a charger slot
or a battery may be defective. Please contact your
Yaesu dealer.
 Periodically wipe the charging terminals in the nest
in the charger stand, using a dry cloth, to ensure
good connections between the charger and battery.
 The SAD-60 AC Adaptor and SAD-1460 Multi
Charger are designed for indoor use only.

 When charging a battery pack alone (not attached
to the transceiver), do not allow any metal object
to short the terminals on top of the pack.
 Do not allow any metal objects to short the ter-
minals in the nest of the charger stand, as a
short-circuit could cause overheating of the char-
ger circuitry.
